Proefnotitie

Licht robijnrode wijn met een gelaagde geur van rozenblad, kers, framboos, pruim en subtiel eiken. Elegant en tegelijk intens van smaak met puur kersenfruit, fijne tannines en levendige frisheid. Lange, complexe afdronk met nuances van noten en specerijen.

Drinken bij

Spannende, verfijnde rode wijn om solo van te genieten of bij mooie gerechten. Fraai bij verse pasta met spek en paddenstoelen, caponata van aubergine, tomaten en olijven of oude Hollandse kazen.

Tenuta delle Terre Nere

Marco de Grazia en zijn broer Iano hebben het zichzelf niet gemakkelijk gemaakt. Zij verbouwen druiven op de noordelijke flank van de vulkaan Etna op Sicilië. Een plek waar de natuur veranderlijk en extreem is. De beste manier om hier wijn te maken, is zeer zorgvuldig werken in de wijngaard en terughoudend zijn in de wijnkelder, vindt Marco. De 27 hectaren van Tenuta delle Terre Nere worden dan ook biologisch bewerkt.

De meeste wijnstokken van Tenuta delle Terre Nere zijn oud: tussen de 50 en 100 jaar, met uitschieters naar ruim 130 jaar. Ze zijn verdeeld over tien percelen in vier verschillende cru’s en staan aangeplant op vaak steile hellingen, waar alles met de hand gedaan moet worden. De cru’s variëren in hoogte van 600 tot 1000 meter en ook de bodem is er divers: van arm, stenig en hard tot rijk en zacht ‘als pikzwart talkpoeder’. Zelfs de temperatuur kent z’n extremen; het verschil tussen dag- en nachttemperatuur kan hier oplopen tot wel 30°C.

Een uitdagende locatie dus, perfect geschikt voor de eigen druiven van het eiland, zoals catarratto voor witte wijnen en nerello mascalese voor rood. Marco de Grazia weeft er met lichte hand zijn bijzondere wijnen van; sappig, mineraal, fruitig en bovenal zeer verfijnd.
